The dual camera mode on the new iPhone is pretty groovy - not the smartest thing in the world yet but I’m sure theyre going to tweak it in future updates.

No, it uses two forward facing cameras next to each other to add depth of field

No, it means Apple ran out of ideas and slapped another camera on the back of the phone for a total of 3.
